The Holidays Are Near

Well December is here and our little Kairi was able to enjoy her first Thanksgiving at Grandpa Scott & Grandma Cherie's house. It was even more fun with her cousin Lincoln in town. But now she's enjoying the Christmas season with all the many outfits that Mommy has been buying and waiting to put Kairi in.

She's become quite the roller, so now Mommy and Daddy have to keep an extra eye on her.

Little Kairi has been growing up into quiet the smiley baby. Mommy took her out shopping last week and our little girl was smiling at nearly everyone she saw. Well here's some pictures of our little darling for you all to see.

So one night recently Kairi was really enjoying a little game of peek-a-boo with Mom. So of course, Mom had Dad grab the camera so that we could record this cute little video. It's been some time since we've put anything new. Little Kairi has been growing, both in size and cuteness. She's been doing a lot more smiling, but still demanding attention from Mom & Dad. So here's some new pictures of our little princess.

This past Sunday, Kairi had her baby blessing! She looked so beautiful in her little white gown and miraculously managed to make it through the entire church meeting without getting fussy. We are grateful that all her friends and family showed up to celebrate the occasion. It was a wonderful day!

Grandma Aileen came up all the way from Maui to visit her granddaughter Kairi. We are all having a great time. So far Kairi's been able to take Grandma up to Estes Park, Frisco, and endless amounts of shopping. Here's a few pictures of our adventures.

Last Sunday we went to visit Grandpa Bob (Scott) & Grandma Cherie for dinner. While we were there, we decided to use their backyard for a little picture taking. Here's what we got.

She really wasn't too interested in taking pictures, but it came out looking okay.

And there she is again, fast asleep. Now only if this could happen more often!

Well Kairi's been transitioning to home life better than Mom and Dad. She sleeps well, although Mom and Dad are still working on that for themselves. Poor little girl was a little jaundice, so they brought over a phototherapy bed for her to be in. It was really sad at first, but then it seemed like she really enjoyed it. Almost like she was tanning. Other than that, Kairi's been as cute as can be. Here's some pics for you all.

Home Sweet Home

Kairi finally got to go home on Wednesday. Needless to say, it was a little bit of an adjustment for her. Although it was pretty cute seeing her looking around at all the new things to look at. I guess a hospital room is a pretty boring place to look at. The nice part though is that Mom and Dad are getting a little more sleep due to the comforts of home. And as always, here's a few new pictures.

Kairi's Here!!!

So Mandy and I went to the hospital on Sunday in attempt to turn a little breach baby and ended up with a little girl the same day instead. We named her Kairi Kimiko Arakawa and she was born on Sunday, July 5th. She weighed in at 6 lbs 13 ounces and 20 inches long. Perfectly healthy and adorable. She's been a little bundle of joy who has been keeping Mom and Dad up all hours of the night. Here's a few pictures for you all. I'll be sure to add more later.

Here she is just an hour after being born receiving her first bath. She really enjoyed it when they washed her hair.

11 Days & Counting

It's only 11 days away!!! Well not really, the baby gets to make that call. So basically it could be any day now or maybe two weeks from now, who knows? Otherwise, Chadd and Mandy are scrambling to get everything ready. The biggest obstacle, MAKING ROOM FOR THE BABY!!

Something New

Hello All!! Well in following in the footsteps of Matt & Lindsey, we decided to start our own blog. I'm not sure how much we'll like this or use it, but oh well. It's worth a try. Also we figured that it would be a great way to update family back on the islands as to what's been going on. Especially with our little girl on the way.
